Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding How We Work

Are reports on GypsyScamWatch legally verified?+
No. Reports are community submissions and are clearly marked as allegations unless our review process establishes sufficient basis to apply a verified status. We never present allegations as established facts.
Can I request removal of a report about me or my business?+
If you believe a report contains factual inaccuracies, you may contact us with evidence. We review all such requests and will correct or remove content where the evidence supports doing so. We do not accept payment for removal.
How do I submit a scam report?+
Use our Report a Scam section to submit information. Include as much detail as possible — dates, amounts, contact information and any supporting evidence you hold. Your identity remains confidential.
What does the VERIFIED status mean?+
A verified status indicates our review team has assessed the available evidence and determined there is sufficient independent basis to support the core allegation. It is not a legal finding or court judgment.
Is my personal information safe when I submit a report?+
Yes. Reporter identities are kept strictly confidential. We do not publish your name or contact details, and we do not share your information with third parties except where required by law.
How can I search for a specific scam or business?+
Use our Scam Checker tool to search by website URL, business name or individual name. Results show matching reports and their current review status.
